WooooHoooo! :yayyy:

We'll be taking off for Austin, Texas next Wednesday or Thursday so I'm probably going to be offline after the weekend. It will be a week or two until we can rent a house and get hooked up again.

Just thought I'd let folks know ahead of time that I wasn't dead or something equally stupid.... :-D

Here's Mutato and Junior loaded in the POD prior to being buried with 'stuff.' (The piece of wood in front of them is the top of my workbench.)

Hmmm, Maybe Eric (02redbird) and I will head that way one spring for some hill country riding? I guess you can help us find some good routes to explore?

hope it's a safe and hassle-free move-hopefully I'll have my TORs when you get back online and I can ask about the necessary adjustments!

Good for you Jimmy! I was stationed at Ft. Hood for 3 years and we used to go to Austin all the time. It was beautiful and the people were great.

Good luck with the move and have a great time!

Jimmy,
I'm in Leander, about 20 miles away. Let me know if you need a hand with anything.

Welcome to Texas.
Good thing you didn't move earlier, it's been freakin hot!
You would have changed your mind. This way you will ride all winter and really get hooked before the summer heat returns.

Good luck, Jimmy! :upthumb:

Austin is a very cool city, even when it's 106 degrees out! Great food, great music and laid-back, offbeat people - perfect!

Sure! Gimmie a little time to check it out though...

Looks like we're going to have to pick your brain for good rides!

Aside from that, thanks for the offer! If that's a first taste of Texas hospitality, I think I'm going to like it there.

I was up near Cooperstown with the Ramapo 500 a few years back. Nice country!

As far as needing a hand, are you any good at removing beer bottle caps? I get a little clumsy after the 3rd or 4th... :-D

I've heard that from several folks who were at Hood -- seems to be the consensus.

I can't say the same for when I was at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, but I understand it's become quite the tourist mecca in the last 30 years. It's on my 'visit list' along with the cockroach museum in Plano. :-D

I figure that if I don't ride when the temp is over 100F I'll still have about 3 times more riding days than Minnesota! Works for me... :-D

I've been hearing that from everyone who's been there and I'm really looking forward to it. So far I've gotten recommendations for the Oasis for Tex-Mex, Sixth Street for entertainment, a scenic ride on Texas 71 and the Austin Flea Market and we're really looking forward to exploring.

----------------------

Well, it's time to shut down and pack... See ya in a couple of weeks! :-D

Jim
