Have seen a few post's here concerning "sticky" "clunky" or missed gears. I have had all of the above, but while doing some other work on my bike I went ahead and did some routine maintenance fluid levels and such. On a hunch I went with a different oil ( Motul 15w 50). Long story short, went for a ride today(about 100 miles) and there was a world of difference in shifting smooth as silk. I highly recommend getting away from the Triumph/Mobil oil on the triples. :-D

My TBS is the opposite. Use the Triumph juice and all is well. Used Honda and Motul products and things were not so well. Funny.

I might try the other brands on my Tiger as it clunks all the time.

It might be worth trying a lighter oil- 15w is like treacle in a modern engine. 5w40 works well for me, but then the ambient temps are a lot cooler in this part of the world.

Not a bad idea I may try that this winter when the oil takes awhile to warm up. What the hell is treacle?

Very similar to, but not quite exactly the same as molasses.

Can I put treacle on my pancakes? Or is it better on toast.

Useless info 101

The name Treacle is derived from Old French 'triacle', in turn from Latin 'theriaca' meaning “antidote to poison”.

Treacle being a syrup based product of which there are two types :
Golden (closest would be Light Molasses) is made from the first boilings of sugarcane (or beet)
Black (bit like Dark Molasses) is obtained by later boilings and has a lower sucrose content.

Like syrups they have thick slow running properties not unlike some oils

and yes you can put it on pankakes
