I've seen it stated that there are baffles in the airbox - I'm assuming that is the first airbox.
My '96 Thunderbird doesn't have these baffles in the airbox, just a dirty great box with nothing in it.

What do these baffles look like and where can I get them - my bike is running really lean so I'm thinking it has to do with these 'missing' baffles.

Other Motorcycle: Can there be room for 2?
I just did the 'tool box conversion' to mine. I seem to remember a couple of small ribs in the bottom, but nothing dramatic. Mine has run on the rich side, but know appears to have just a hint of leaness when I back off the throttle. Not quite acceleration when I do it, but a faint hint at it. Probably will never do anything about it.

Well sorta.... That first airbox is a sound baffle that keeps the carb noise down and works pretty much like the mufflers on the exhaust but with no internal baffling.

The other function is as a velocity drop air filter where the intake air slows down so particulates can fall out of the airstream.
