I've been looking at a few BMWs. I especially like the R1200ST. If you were to purchase another bike, and it was a BMW, what bike would it be and why?

How important are things like hardbags and a passenger seat? Not very, R1200S, very, R1200RT. The ST is just too ugly for me. The R1200R looks pretty nice as well, but its similar to the TBS so I think a Rockster version of it would be excellent.

Then again I had a R1100S and loved it.

R1200S in red and silver stripes is the hottest current BMW, imo.

The R1200ST would likely be a very good bike, too. I don't find them too offensive personally, and they look immensely useable.

The R1200R preview images have looked very nice, too. However, if you're keeping your Triumph, it would be somewhat similar as an open roadster.

Myself I'd probably wait for the F800S or ST bike, which should be here in the State for 07. Hopefully the new F's will be priced affordably; BMW's are a bit expensive to me.

Any BM with a fairing and no chrome! My Triumph does everything else I want it to but it would be nice to ride in the rain without feeling bad about the amount of chrome cleaning needed afterwards. Seriously though why would anyone want a BM, I've always thought of them a quirky and ugly with the cylinders in entirely the wrong place for a slide up the road.

I wouldn't

I owned an '05 Tiger for a year so I could do some serious touring, I sold it a couple of weeks ago, still prefer the Sport as a day to day ride. The Tiger is a great sports tourer though, and with the luggage there is no where too far to traavel.

Buy the Tiger ad save about $8k on a comparable Kraut unit. :-D

If it has to be a BMW then a GS. I agree with Nige though, if you want something different than a Triumph then look at Moto Guzzi...simply beautiful machines.
