I recently bought a Legend TT and needed to have it shipped. I got a good suggestions from this forum to arrange shipping thru BevelHeaven. After a short Chat with the owner (Steve Allen) I agreed with this recommendation.. nice guy! Does it seem reasonable that it takes 5 weeks to to get a bike from Colorado to Maryland? The've had my bike since Aug 7th and will not deliver for another two weeks.

Does this match your experience with bike shippers?

Other Motorcycle: Can there be room for 2?
Nope, taking too long. Hope the price was reasonable.

Had mine shipped by http://www.motorcycleshippers.com/. Not a perfect shipment, but still reasonably fast and the motorcycle was in the same condition it left in (the local van lines called me a week after I had picked it up -- after calling them to find it was here -- to tell me it was ready for pick up).

This is the fastest (and was cheaper, but the far end wasn't near an airport): http://www.forwardair.com/

Search listings: http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcyc...ing-transport/
http://www.micapeak.com/mc/addrs/ashipping.html

PS Mine took less than two weeks. And that included the July 4th holiday weekend.

Why don't you ride it? It's almost a straight shot out Route 70.

I bought my TBS in Florida and shipped to Montreal. It took about 3 weeks but your luck can vary.

I would think that in the range of 4 weeks for a motorcycle shipper from Colorado to Maryland is not that off.

Motorcycle shippers, meaning moving company will have your bike sit in warehouse for a while, waiting for a ride to the next point, this is where the delay is coming from. It goes from warehopuse to warehouse not necessarely in a straight line.

There are different type of services but the packing and the price will vary.

Yesterday I shipped my Sprint from Montreal to Vancouver in order to go ride in California. I made several phone call and the transit time and prices varies a lot.

I had the following quotes. Moving company or so called bike shipper, 875 US $ with a transit time of 3 to 5 weeks. No crating, they strap it on a pallet.

Crated shipping, is cheaper. A truck picking the bike from my warehouse, to the train, to Vancouver delivered in a warehouse, 450 US $, transit time 7 to 9 days.

Direct service, express, picked up in Montreal and deliverd to Vancouver, 4 days service, 875 $ US with a minimum of handling.

Sounds crappi to me. I shipped a VW camper van from San Diego to the UK in the same amount of time for $1100 three yrs ago. That had to be 8 thousand miles or so.

Sea shipping is a lot cheaper than road shipping. I shipped my ST last year to germany for 350 $ US. Took 3 weeks to get to destination. Not much warehouse to warehouse movement. Once on the water, it is gone.

I ship containers from Viet Nam to California for 3200 $ but a truck from Montreal to Califonia would be 6000 $ and it is at leat half the distance if not a third.
