Sorta what I seem to be finding- I was interested in Triumph offroad pipes and go with the dealer recommend on re-jet but some guys are reporting more mileage, some less, some de-aceleration probs, less power more power, un even power, awesome sound too loud- I realize that a lot of this is individual perception- but it sounds like I should leave well enough alone- stock! Am I getting feedback from "home brew" solutions and is the dealer the way to go-
I heard bubs on a speedmaster and they were good for me- but their fitment doesn't indicate TBS.
I guess my question is: What can I expect from dealer installed triumph offroad pipes and any re-jet that the dealer feels is necessary? (thinking of Destiny motorsport in Syracuse NY- if that matters)

Thanks guys.
Rick

The problems are that everyone does something different, that there's a dependence on the butt dyno rather than a dyno run, there's a lack of feedback on the effectiveness of modifications made, too many variants are tried at the same time for meaningful analysis of the results, half the mods are usually not mentioned when someone has difficulty with a setup and there's no consistant interpretation of the results by the folks doing the mods.

In short, people are being people. Machines are a lot easier to deal with.

If all you're doing is changing mufflers then it's not going to make a significant difference on the dyno but may make a big difference in your perception since 'Everybody knows' that loud mufflers produce more power... :-D

The general modification for open muffleres is a #40 pilot jet with #100 main jets -- provided that there are no other modifications.

1- Is that with the "Official" triumph "off road muffler"?

2aside from butt-dyno are there significant fuel-use changes?

3- I LOVE this forum!!

1. Any glasspack or other low-restriction muffler.

2. The pilot jet has the biggest effect on local riding since that includes idling at stops, warmup time and small throttle operation under around 5000 rpm.

The main jet is active with large throttle and high rpm.

Bigger jets mean reduced mileage since you're decreasing the air:fuel ratio.

3. Most of the time...
