I'm considering purchasing a 2000 Legend with about 8,000 miles on it. It looks brand new. What do you all think about this bike. Oh, the asking price is 4800 in Sacramento, Calif. Any advice is might appreciated!

Sounds about $1500 too high. But then again, I'm 3000 miles away.

Hi!

Can't say much about the price as I'm living in Norway...
Do you get a chance to take it for a test run?
If so, you'd know if this is a bike for you.

I got mine out today after a chain and sprocket change, been standing still for ten days. and MAN, it's great to be riding again!

handling, engine power, looks, britishness, heritage...

You'll just have to ride it.....

Can't help you with comments about the price as I live in New Zealand. But I bought a 2001 Legend about 6 months ago and I love it. Just the right combination of power, handling and charisma. I did replace the standard 17 tooth front sprocket with an 18 tooth and its perfect.

Well, nothing to think about then!

If you have the money, go ahead! (oh, you should always try to get the price down anyway....but what the h...you just KNOW you have to have it

Sounds even better if it's got some add ons to it!

Let us know, ok?

Motorcycle Consumer News says the 2K Legend is worth $3960 US for a "reconditioned or clean, undamaged and well-maintained vehicle." That's from their Summer/Fall 2004 Used Bike Value Guide.

So, a super-cherry bike is worth more and a beater less.

I'd point out that anything is only what you're willing to pay, however.... :-D

What kind of pipes did he put on? Keep in mind that pipes and rejetting for this bike are pretty expensive. A Staintune system can run around $1000 . . .
