Just wanted to say a huge thanks to all who posted their help for my previous thread. I found out what the problem was after stripping down my front end. It turns out both fork tubes are bent and somehow must've gone out of line when i replaced the brake disk. I have fiddled them back into "wonky alignment" and the disk now clears the caliper by 2-3mm.
So now im gonna need new fork tubes!! bloomin heck this bike has been expensive recently. Not sure how the dealer missed bent tubes on the recent accident insurance claim, or when they put a new lower fork leg on either! :???:

Thanks again folks,

Wayne

Glad you figured it out Wayne.

You can get fork tubes straightened, but I'm not sure I would trust them after they have been bent and straightened, it must put some stress on them.

Try www.busters-accessories.co.uk or www.wemoto.com for new fork tubes. They will be a lot cheaper than a Triumph dealer.

Hi slinky.
Got some tubes from sprint manufacturing for £90 each. Bit better than the £132 from triumph. I just need to get the special damper removing tool made now. That might prove to be the biggest problem of the whole job. I really wouldn't know where to go to get a 30mm nut whelded to 18 inches of steel rod!!
Im a little nervous about pulling the forks apart but I'm gonna give it a go.

Wayne

Any local garage should be able to help - the nut will be available from local faster supply companies (check the yellow pages).

I used an old wheel spindle nut, from God knows what, and spot welded it to a steel bar I have. Then I used mole grips on the top to hold it.
