Hello all. I just purchsed a Garmin GPSMAP 60CS and want to mount it on my Thunderbird. Has anyone here used a RAM mount for their Tbird? If so which one(s)? The one available from Garmin atleast on paper doesn't look like it will fit the handlebars at a decent angle to view.

I have a ram mount on my legend, which also has 7/8 inch bars, for my GPS. I have the absolute basic U-bolt with ball and then the standard arm. It's absolutely wonderful - inconpicuous when the GPS isn't mounted, flexible when it is.

There's not, I take it, a cradle made by RAM quite yet, although I understand touratech makes one.

The best source for information on this stuff, actually, is the ADVRider web site. Here's a link with instructions on making a RAM mount for a 60CS.

These guys, for the record, are absolute freaks. They know everything and are really helpful - even if you don't ride an GS or a VStrom or Tiger.
