I've just purchased a 2000 T'bird. Now we're having a bit of a heatwave here in the old country and this bike seems to roast my right leg? Is this normal? I didn't really notice until the hot weather set in a few days ago.

Yeah, I feel that sometimes when it's over 90°F outside. But it's not a persistent roasting, just extra heat, depending on speed and which way the winds blows.

Other Motorcycle: I wish!
I have also noticed that my right leg gets a tad more heat than the left while riding.

I have put this down to the fact that, due to the camchain, the motor extends further to the right of the frame than the left.

Try riding a new Sprint on a hot day. Damned thing will roast your left leg to a crisp. I live in Brisbane which is awfully hot and humid in summer, and the TBird is a pleasure to ride compared to the sprint. As old mate said ride faster

Pretty miserable here in Oklahoma on long hot rides. The warm legs just suck. Then your radiator fan kicks in and blows hot air EVERYWHERE!

I recently took a demo ride on a Harley V-Rod "Street Rod"
on a 90 deg day, after getting off that my Legend felt like it had Air Conditioning!

I reckon sitting in traffic or at the lights in the urban jungle on a 40'C = 106'F day in the sun on a TB/TBS is like being a steak on a BBQ. The heat rising off the radiator and motor is phenomenal. Can't wait for that sun to go down.

I used heat wrap on my pipes, and I have not felt what your discribing since last year so needless to say the stuff works very well!!

I did a 6 hour trip (380mi) the other weekend and ended up walking my motorcycle through a lot of contruction in Chicaco Il. it was 86f and although I had most of my gear ripped off I did not once get the hot right leg.
