I have a 97 Thunderbird that I think is great, but all of my friends make fun of the stock "pea shooter" exhaust I have on it. I have asked around and noone has been able to tell me where I can get a normal looking exhaust for the bike. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Frank

BTW, sorry if this issue has already been dealt with, I'm new to this.

It all depends what you consider to be 'normal'! :???:

The pea shooter is pretty 'traditional' looking for the style of bike.

There are megaphones, cigars, Rayguns, 'cans' etc.

Don't take any notice of your mates. What are they riding? Bet it's not as pretty as your machine, and probably Jap, and those peashooters look glorious.

i just put a set of EPCO's on my thunderbird sport. they look very good, the build is exceptional and the sound is awesome. they are the megaphone shape.

I think the peas shooter (sausage-style) design is perfect for the TBird. You can put on a pair of Togas which are slimmer than the fat stock pipes, and much better looking, in my opinion. They will be quite louder than the stock pipes when you "get on it". You'll probably piss off a lot of people if you use straight pipes.

So what you're saying is that you'd rather fuk your powerband because your friends think straight pipes are best? Straight pipes suck for midrange and sound awful to boot.

There, there guys - the cruiser crowd likes the straight pipe look. Don't go getting all arrogant and all. It IS kind of funny that they know so little about motorcycles to realise that this is a classic styled pipe.

I suggest going to a reverse cone look, it is still cool both to the classic Brit and the cruiser crowd.

The D&D pipe looks good, and the decibels will earn you respect with V-Twin lovers.

OR the EPCOstainless pipe:

I went with a set of Adventurer slash cuts from hermys.com They aren't listed on the site anymore, but Hermy's or your dealer might still be able to order them. They are LOUD. I didn't mind the look of the stock peashooters, but didn't like my scoot sounding like the jetsons car. <img src="http://www.triumphrat.net/albums/album895/aad.sized.jpg"

If you change'em just cos your mates laugh at you, you'll just be encouraging them to laugh more. Be an individual.
