Hey all, I'm wanting to take my 98 TBird in more of a cafe direction. Here's a recent pic:

http://www.triumphrat.net/modules.ph...view_photo.php

I'm wanting to bob or remove the rear fender and do the smaller tail light mod etc... that is on a lot of the cafe pics posted. Question: Is there a kit people are using or is it mainly a "this n' that" homemade mod? Thanks.

Lookin' good so far. The majority, like Mick our Moderator, are DIYing up something nice, but a couple of us like myself and Spooner are using the MecaTwin undertail for the TBS which involves calling France and being very patient. Spooner has a Tbird so he'll be able to shed some light on making it fit.

The 98 T-bird has the seat with lock right? If you do you'll have to relocate the lock further back to make the MT undertray sit snug against the frame. The other way to go is ripping off the rear fender (instant coolness is achieved) and then fab your own bracket for lights and blinkers. If you go that way you'll want to make some kind of undertray yourself to protect the underside from dirt and spray.

The rear fender mod is a home-made bob job. There isn't a fit up that I have seen replacing the rear fender.

I bobbed mine and then flattened it in the tailight area. The old 60's Lucas light works nicely.

The is a good option to consider if you don't like "skunk stripes" up your back from bikin in weather....

Thanks for the help guys. I think I'm going to bob it first and go with a smaller tail light. If that doesn't satisfy, I'll continue on.

I was thinking the bob wouldn't do it but that looks tight! I've bought a taillight/plate holder that should work for either application. Where's the hacksaw?!
