Everytime I take my tank off I notice that the coolant level has decreased from full to min.
I wonder if that's just the level that my bike likes or if something's wrong...it doesn't matter if a week goes by or two months..it'll be around the minimum mark.
Is this normal? I have no leaks so I'm a little bit like :???:

Its normal... It seems that on some bikes the marks may be a bit high.

Tangential question . . . first the back ground:

About a week after purchasing my bike three years ago I returned from a ride, parked in the driveway and it promptly spit up coolant from a loose hose; big puddle. Back to dealer, afterwards fine. Last year, riding to work, notice one pant leg and boot is all wet. Back to dealer to replace one hose, tighten the rest, afterwards fine. This past Sunday gave the bike complete cleaning - spotless. Ride to work Monday, blue spots on left side engine case - obviously loose hose again. Bike is due for inspection, so shop trip is planned - but *** with these hoses and clamps?

Any suggestions? Replace them all? Is there an upgrade from OEM hose?

Sounds like you dealer is just tightening the hose that leaks each time rather than checking them all over.

Get an aux plastic fuel tank from an autoparts store, they're not very expensive and look like a larger IV drip. Remove the gas tank and hook the aux up to the carbs. Run the bike and see if you can locate the leak; everything will be visible since the gas tank will be removed.

My coolant settles at an inch below the MIN mark and stays there. Putting any more in is pointless.

Shop diagnosis: bad fan switch. I don’t have a leak, I bubbled over. Coolant is circulating, but fan is not coming on. Now, the pattern of splatter confirms overflow, not hose/clamp as source. Part ordered.

Mechanic says never replaced one of these.

Does sound unusual....

Well, I hope that sorts it for you.

Let us know the outcome, please?

They jumped around switch and fan came right on. Thermostat is sending signals, switch appears shot.

More later after switch is replaced - next week.

No long rides for me till then.

Report:

Fan switch replaced, fan definitely works. However, just this AM had temp light flicker. I've never had my temp light flicker, even when my fan was not working. ***?
