Hi, everyone

Mick dropped in on the Twins forum with a post and it reminded me how much I enjoyed my time over here when I had the Tbird.

As most of you know, I totalled my beloved Tbird when a deer ran out in front of us (fortunately Sue was on her own bike!) last June 24 (Sue's birthday) when we were spending a week riding in Pocohantas County, WVA. I was pretty banged up but am mostly healed now. Some things will never be quite the same, so I tell everybody that physically I am at a "new normal."

Since they don't make Tbirds any more and I wanted to buy one more new bike, I got a new Bonneville Black last February. Am enjoying it and the new friends over on the Twins forum.

But still miss all you guys and gals over here.

BTW: I am organizing a meet, greet, eat and RIDE for NE Ohio and neighboring area Triumph riders for July 8th. Check it out on the Rides/Events forum and join us if you can. What you ride isn't important, but do try to join us. We have people coming riding everything from a 250 Rebel to a Rocket 3! Which is why we will split up into "slowpokes" like me, and faster riders, with stops along the way to gather up the flock, and a final pig-out at Hog Heaven in New Phila.

Take care,

Monte

Hi Monte,

Glad to hear that you're now pretty well healed up after your unfortunate encounter with the deer and that you are enjoying the new Bonneville. Despite some of the kidding that goes on in these forums, most of us agree that it doesn't really matter what kind of bike you ride as long as it is what you want. Good to know that you stuck with Triumph.

Cheers,

Jodel

Hey Monte,

Glad to hear you are keeping well and enjoying your Bonnie. The place was far more up-market when we had a man of the cloth around.

It's just a rabble in here now. :-D

The Classics are T-300s so they're my second family, as you were. Good to hear from you. I know you're enjoying that Bonnie.

God bless you and your gang.

Hi Monte,

Good to hear from you, and that things are so much better.

A Bonnie? Can you keep up with Sue's Virago?

Best wishes,
Geoff

G'Day from downunder Monte. Great to see you are enjoying the new ride.
I too have just returned from an absence, been away working with no internet access. Three more weeks and the project I am working on will be finished, then I'll be able to annoy you RAT's endlessly :-D

Good to connect with some of you old F*rts that are still hanging around this watering hole and still playing on the triples.

I haven't had the Bonnie long enough (700 miles only) to really tell how well I will like it long run. My first new bike was a '68 Bonnie. Up to then I could only afford a bunch of rat bike clunkers to work on and ride til they blew up, then buy another for $50-75 and start over. So there is a nostalgia factor at work that will help me overlook any irritations. That's on the plus side.

On the minus side is that my Tbird was ablsoutely the favorite bike of all the 30-40 bikes I have had over the years. In that sense the Bonnie is following in some mighty big footsteps. Not fair, really, but that's how it goes.

Take care, guys. Good to have all of you respond.

Monte
