Howdy all!
Just joined the ranks of you modern motorscooterists last weekend with the purchase of a '99 Thunderbird Sport (yellow and black). I've been riding old Triumphs for several years and, to be honest, I've never owned a motorcycle with disc brakes (let alone OHCs!) - I'm in heaven. It's a beautiful bike and I'm happy as a clam. I've looked at (and ridden) the newer Bonnevilles, Sprints, and Trophys but I never even considered the Thunderbird. Mistakingly thought they were all copies of Jap cruisers so I never even gave them a second glance. Now that I own the Sport, I'm convinced it's the most gorgeous bike I've ever seen
Anyway, one problem I'm having is the left turn indicator light on the "dash board." It doesn't work. I checked the wiring and it looks solid, clean, and tight and I took the dash apart and to my horror found that they're LEDs (I think) and I'm not sure if they can be replaced. Like I said, all this modern stuff is foreign to me (never even had turn signals before  ) - can this be fixed or should I just live with it?
Thanks for all help - looking forward to a lot of happy miles!

-Jeremy

Not LEDs they are small, 2 watt bulbs. You can get them from your Triumph dealer.

Remove them by using a piece of rubber fuel line. Press it over the bulb and pull....

Welcome to the ranks of the neuvo gear heads! :-D

well if it is the same as my 2000 Legend, which it should be that is not an LED, but a little 1.2 watt bulb. p/n is T2502090 and they are calling them Warning Lamps. There should be 6 of them in that harness.

Be sure to not ignore the wattage. I believe one owner melted some plastic bits by installing an off the shelf auto bulb. I could be mistaken...maybe I'm thinking of the larger bulbs in the clocks....

I have recently been able to find the 1.2 watt small bulbs at an Autozone so if you don't have a dealer near by (or they have to order one) check there.

Be sure to use the same wattage as you remove to avoid any possible issues.

Welcome to the party

You are correct sir, the previous owner of my Adventurer put stock automotive bulbs, I think 1.5's in and they melted the trip odometer. It still works but looks like.... uh, not good. I replaced them with Blue LED's. Now they don't create heat and look sweet at night.

Thanks guys - found the 1.2w at Autozone just down the street (the nearest dealer is 230 miles away...). 2 bucks and it's blinking again!
