Once you have turned the lock you should be able to lift the seat off. You have to ease it back at the same time because the front locates under the tank.

I have fount sometimes that my seat lock requires me to put my key in a spicific way so if it doesn't come off try flipping your key over.

Just food for thought.

grasp the rear of the seat, push down on the back as you turn the key then holding the key in the turned position lift up the rear of the seat (it may need a wiggle). then as slinky says pull it back a little as you lift the seat right off.

When you get the seat off, I recommend removing those little hooks on the bottom of the seat. I find its much easier to pull it off and reinstall the seat.

Not recommended if you ever take passengers.

It seems that they are there to stop the seat coming off while riding if a passenger should pull up on the grab strap or sides of the seat.

Interesting, didn't think about that. Never had a problem riding with a passenger. That explains why they are not on my solo seat. Thanks for the info.

If its really snug just take a file to those hooks and remove a little.

I think its just to keep the seat from flexing its way out of the latch, this may or may not be possible depending on many things like how much wear is in the latch
