I need to replace the rubber gaskets or bushings on the upper part of the fork on my 96 T-Bird.

Does anyone know the name for these parts, I need to help the local shop as I have had a less than normal experience in the past.

Thanks!

Your local shop should do everything based off parts diagrams. So they will be able to visually see what part you are looking for. Look over their shoulder and point out what it is.

Do you mean the rubbers at top and bottom of the headlamp brackets?

If so the part is T2700340 and they call it a Grommet, mounting tube (snappy name huh?)

I had the same problem, disintegrated headlight mounting tube grommets, and what I got was these little rubber dealies that I still don't know what they're for. Something around the headlight, I guess. I had a heck of a time installing the actual parts when I got them finally. Does anyone know an easy way to install them I can use next time I want to change my fork oil?

not sure why it was hard for you. all you have to do is slide the bottom one over the fork, seat the shroud over it and then put the top one one. maybe it would be easier if you unbolted the headlight so you can do them separately.

My problem stemmed from the fact that there wasn't enough space to assemble the thing between the upper and lower triple clamps. I had to use grease on them to allow them to slide into place.
