Just got back from a five day 2,250 mile jaunt to NC for the Dragon Raid. Saw a brace of TBS's (both were the orange/white combo IIRC), a nicely cafe'd TB, an Adventurer, my black TB, my mate's blue TB and a green Legend - there may have been more but there were a lot of folks there!

The riding was ace, and I also stopped at the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum - one of the 7 Motorcycling Wonders of the World.

Vonbonds, where were you? Thought you were going?

Hey Chris. I thought I messaged you, I guess I didn't . My work schedule didn't permit me to get away for the Dragon run this year. My employer is treating me like a 2 dollar wh.....you get the idea.

I do have plans to ride to Texas this year though. In August or September we have to go to Dallas (actually it is in Grand Prarie - the Vought facility) for some DR testing. I plan to ride down, work the week and then take a week and a bit coming home. As of now my boss said that is cool. I hope she keeps her word when the time comes!

Tre....

This is what I posted in the Dragon thread in the Rides & Forum - until I find time to write up the details, it's all I got.

Quote:
Left Dallas Thu afternoon - rode 2,250 miles through Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana - got back Tue evening, five days, four hours and forty five minutes later. When I got home I sat in the garage with the bike and drank a beer - she kept me out of the ditches and out of trouble.

Rode the Dragon three times, the Cherohala twice, 180 in GA once - 129 and 60 were also memorable. I can't get my chicken strips any thinner than half-an-inch, I was grinding the pegs, pipes and centrestand - and chamfering my boots to boot.

The Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum is Holy Ground and so is the National Military Park at Vicksburg for other, much sadder, reasons.

My backside is like Kobe beef, I hit a pothole so deep it bent the front wheel, I missed a (dead) medium sized deer by inches, and fishtailed in the blood slick.

I'm sat here at work on break - wondering when I can do it again. There are no words.
