hi guys,
Put the slash cut "off road" pipes on and the single side (#1) had a honeycomb insert about 3.5" long in the inlet of the stock megaphone silencer. I left it out when I put the slash cuts on and it sounds like the left side exhaust has a brassy sound (too much treble) kinda like open Harley pipes. I have two questions:

1. Was I supposed to put this in the left side? (right 2 into 1 pipe did not have it)

2. Is it OK to leave it out if I like the sound the way it is?

Oh yeah #3 Will the new slash cuts be less prone to blue up on the 2 into 1 side since they are open and might not retain heat as bad as the megaphone style?

Please advise on all three questions if you can, and thank you,

I thought it sounded like I was being followed by a Harley on the right and a lawnmower on the left when I put the slashcuts on my Adventurer.

1 & 2) I don't have anything like your honeycomb thingie in my exhaust, so I guess it's not a problem.

3) Your pipes will blue faster/farther since the open exhausts will tend to lean the mixture a bit above an idle.

The consolation here is that folks will know you actually ride the bike rather than just sit around and admire it. :-D
