It was today so rode along with a mate. The meeting is an annual event at Prees in Shropshire on the A49 road.It sort of marks the end of winter and gets a good turnout of bikes and riders.Basically lots of mainly classic bikes to see and there are 3 truckers cafes where you can indulge in a full fry-up.The weather was a bit damp and miserable, particularly the ride home (only about 40 miles for me) but there were plenty of lovely classics to see.A couple of nice Vincents and an MV Agusta 750S America caught my eye.All the Brit bikes were represented but I was amazed at how many Triumphs there were.By far the most popular make.Lots of Hinckleys, particularly Tbirds and Speed Triples, but also plenty of Meriden. There was a very nice Triton cafe racer - a T150 in a featherbed frame and lots of polished alloy.I am now motivated to put my 95 Tbird back on the road. It's insured and MOT'd so just needs the road tax.I do find polishing all the alloy that the early Tbirds have is very time consuming if the bike is to be kept pristine, especially compared to my Tiger which cleans up easily. But having seen all those classics I can feel the inspiration. It's a pity the weather is so miserable.Roll on summer !

Agreed my typing is not the best - l is next to k though.
anyway it was the usual excellent free show with more classics to look at then many classic events with an entrance fee.For anyone within reasonable riding distance it's worth the annual visit.I think I managed to spell classic correctly a few times.

I wouldn't worry about the spelling too much. Mick puts woudl in most of his posts and i would not be posting at all if it wasn't for the spell checker!!!!!

I would like to go to these meetings but something always gets in the way. What i need is some people to call at my house and ask the Mrs. if Joules could come out to play.
Besides Shropshire is quite a hike from Bath and north east Somerset (to give Avon its new title).

Messed up my own funny reply........calssic? Where did I get that from?

Sin and stones/glass houses etc

Sorry JohnRimmer, I just saw a funny side to the title, but managed to 'shoot myself in the foot' with my reply.

Sounded like a good event, not enough of them nowadays.

And esp. in the colonial antipodes......
