Follow-up report:
Bought a Vista-Cruise throttle lock that has no part number but does have the words ”Fits most Honda (Kawasaki pre-1982) Dual Cable” on the package. Unfortunately, the package had been opened and the Thrust Washer was missing but it was all they had and I went for it. Following the details Chris shared in this thread and modifying as required, I was able to fit the unit to my TB. It took a lot longer than it should have to complete the installation but I attribute this to having to make a thrust washer, my caution and wanting to have the unit look as if it came with the bike.
In any event, it works but needed to be tweaked in over about a dozen trials. This is true only because getting the outside diameter of the throttle tube perfectly round and concentric by hand (no lathe etc) is next to impossible thus the throttle lock is seeing high and low spots depending on actual throttle position (i.e.: speed/gear selection).
I now have it where it will work any where between 30 mph and 70 mph and this was all I wanted (who wants to let go above 70?).
Thanks again to all and especially Chris for his input. If anyone would like to know more, email me or post a reply here.

I finally got around to posting a couple of pictures, as an aid to the installation detail I posted a while back.

Chris,
Thanks for the pictures. I hope “acejones” sees these, as he is also interested in installing a lock. Looks like I followed your set up except that mine is oriented with the thumb tab nearer horizontal as I felt that position was better for me. I see you apparently ground/sanded the finish on the flange of the rubber grip. Interestingly, I cut mine with a scissors and it looks OK.
I was going to post some pictures but now I have a new question. How did you post the pictures and get the red underlined link to your album to show up in this thread?

I don't know how to paste pics into a post (or if there even is a way)..... But I was planning to put a few pics out on the site anyway, so I emailed one to Shawn and asked him to open an album for me.

Once he (and Mick can do it as well) has set it up, then you get admin rights to upload further pics and edit your album.

Regarding links in posts, if you click on the URL button when creating your post, it will prompt you for the address. Next it asks you for the text to display, and then it embeds the link in the post at the point where the cursor was when you clicked on the URL button.

Re the grip, I cut the flange down with a craft knife and then gave it a quick sand with the Dremel.

Chris,
Hope I did not mislead you. I have an Album on the site but was thinking the LINK was done as part of the picture posting. I am going to try this now - stand back -it might explode:
joemc Album

Apparently we are onto something here - it worked for me.
I am again beholding to you Chris.
