Bike will be here tomorrow. Just curious if there is an aftermarket forward control option for the '97 T-bird? Or would I be better off fitting highway pegs? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Sadaddy. :-D

Don't know of any. The T-Bird is designed to be ridden in an upright position.I guess if you have long legs hy-way pegs would be helpful on a long haul. Some of our limey friends here might be able to help you on that subject. Seems there is a Brit outfit that makes case guards and pegs for the T- Bird.

Great Bay also has highway pegs -- though they are not cheap. $245 if I recall correctly. I am considering them but, at that price, I may have to wait a while.

There was one outfit in the US that used to make forward controls but, from what I read in a previous thread, they no longer do.

Thanks for the replies. Im a little long legged and was just considereing a way to stretch out on longer rides. The pegs from Great Bay sound a little pricey but might be worth it. I'll just have to take a day trip and see if I really need to have them. Gives me a good excuse to spend a little quality time with bike anyway!

Just in case you want to see what the highway pegs from Great Bay look like. I've some on my bike on page 8 of the member maintained albums. They were even more expensive for me because I got stung for import tax. Also you need to disconnect the water pipe and take the exhausts off and drill into the bottom of the engine. There was no way I was going to drill into the engine myself so I ended up getting my Triumph dealer to fit them for me so all in all it was an expensive excercise. They are comfortable on long straight runs and in my opinion look good.
