Hey folks,
I remember reading several posts when I first signed on several months back about the triples such as my Adventurer hanging between 2nd and 3rd. I've experienced the problem quite a bit, too.

Well, I think I've discovered the reason. Apparently, I was leaving my toe in contact with the shifter after shifting to second, and not fully releasing it back to the unloaded position. I've found that if I make a conscious effort to fully release the shift lever after each shift, she's as smooth as can be.

I kind of stumbled across this as I'm trying to break in a new pair of boots and was making sure I flexed them all the way down. Maybe that's the fix (it hasn't occurred again since then, and it was happening about every other shift previously). Hopefully this will help some of the other folks that are experiencing the problem.

Yes, Falsten; This does seem to me to be a ' feature ' on my own Thunderbird. I posted about the same thing, a while back, then discovered that it was almost completely cured when I stopped wearing three pairs of socks ( It was cold, O.K.? ). I still miss some changes but only when I'm 'revving it out', which is when it seems to require an even more positive toe poke!

I noticed the same thing on my T-Bird after I bought a new pair of boots. I solved it mostly by adjusting my shift lever upward on the shaft one notch. To me the shift lever seems a bit short for use with boots. The only problem now is that the shift lever seems a little too high.

on my tbird someone here told me to raise my lever just before shifting up (to take off preload )then it goes in like butter but you have to let off lever between shifts or you won,t lock down the gear .

And here I thought I was the only one experiencing the problem -- this site is great! Kind of like a support group

I'll have to try some of the suggestions -- including moving it up a notch -- I wear some pretty bulky boots most of the time.
