This photo shows the difference of the lighting between the standard bulb (left/spedo) and the LED bulbs (right tach).

That looks nice. So tell us more about the LED's that you used.
Where did you get them, specs, etc.

Is it a simple plug it in and turn it on and it works?

I ordered the 4 LED Wedge Base Bulb (White) from the following site.

Super Bright LED's

I was going to order the 6LED type but for some reason they didn't list white as a choice of color.

I think the 4LED does a good job iluminating the tach/speedo.

Yes, just plug it in and it works.

Thats an amazing difference! Thanks for the link.

I am going to update my Adventurer as soon as I can find the numbers on the bulbs in the clocks and tail light

Thanks for the pic and link!

I'm thinking I might go for the red ones since that doesn't affect night vision as much. Guess I'll have to pick up a couple to play with. ;^}

Zimtok,
Did the LED bulb emit a lot of heat? I tried to replace a burnt out tach light with a standard 194 bulb and it got very hot because of the wattage issue, on the of the burnt out bulb.

This is the specs listed on the website.

Spec page

I ordered the WLED-W4 (White LED bulb)

The ones I received did not have the colored base as seen on the website. They were all clear plastic.

I still need to identify the very small bulb located under my speedometer cable.

I'd be interested to know how well these work in the idiot lights - whether they might actually make them brighter and therefore more visible. Even just the fact that they are much less likely to fail would be a big plus.

I just orded red single-led units for the clocks and some of the 4-led units for the idiot lights.

That probably sounds kind of backwards, but I figure I don't need to light the clocks in daylight but want to be able to see the idiot lights in bright sun.

Egard44 asked about heating -- there should be no noticeable heat produced by the LEDs since they only draw about 0.020 amps. That would be about 1/4 watt or about 1/7 the power of the standard bulbs.
