I don't have a Nolan flip up but I do have an HJC Symax. I just bought a conventional full face helmet to see if the wind noise will be reduced. I have heard that all flip up helmets produce more noise due to the great creases in the helmet to allow for the flip functionality.

Just keep that in mind when shopping for a flip up style lid.

I have an earlier version, aobut 3 years old. It's the Nolan Classic 100. I think. This is my first full face helmet so nothing to compare it to, but I do like it. It's very convenient, the anti-fog shield works great and it's very comfortable for my noggin. It does make a lot of wind noise on the highway, but like I said I can't do a comparison. I wear earplugs on the highway anyway. I think the newer ones only require one hand to flip up the lid and I think the liner is partially removable? Those would be great features. I think it's a bit heavy too, but I got used to it real fast.

I justbought an HJC Symax as well. Compared to an open face (I have the HJC - AC3) it is much quieter and warmer on the face in the cooler temps. If look around you can find the Symax at good priices as dealer clean out the older models (Got mine for $125...half of the original $250).

I have been wearing a Nolan N-100E Plus for the past two/three years.

I haven't done an A-B comparison but I think it probably is a little noisier than some helmets, but not overly so.

It's a good comfortable helmet and I would recommend it.

Likes:
Washable removable liner
Good construction
Comes with lots of extras - pads, shields, visor inserts
Comfortable
Excellent fastener
Excellent vale

Dislikes:
the one-handed operation isn't as easy as it's meant to be.

I tried a Nolan N-100E Helmet and it felt a little more restricting than my HJC AC-10. I felt that my view was restricted due to the smaller size face shield. It also seemed to have a harder inside maybe just less padding.

Keep in mind that helmets need to fit YOUR head. this one didn't seem to fit my head but if you are comfortable in it then it may be the one for you.

Have you looked at the Caberg Justissimo flip front helmet. I have been using one for just over a month and its the best lid I have used todate.
Good vents good anti mist and the built in sun visor realy makes a difference no more having to chose which visor I need before I go out or trying to put sun glasses on.
