955 piston question

Hey everyone. Been reading through as many threads as I can find on the subject, but I'm still coming up short on a few answers. Hope some of you can help.

I'm working with a 99 Legend engine that needs a bottom end rebuild. So I figure now's a good time to start upgrading.

I've read through the deal with the liners and I think I can sort that out. I have a lathe if they do need to be turned down to fit the case. Is there a definitive answer on that BTW? I've found a set from a 595.

My other question is in regard to piston selection and compression ratios. I'm currently looking at 595 as well as a set from an 01 Sprint 955i. Does anyone know what sort of bump in compression this nets and is there anything that needs attention in order for these to work? valve clearence issues, skirt lengths, etc?

Lastly, I've been running across references to Jim Bush's 955 T-bird. Obviously, his site is no longer available. Can anyone direct me to info on his bike elsewhere?

Thanks much for any info in advance. I appreciate it.

I can't help with specifics but the lead mechanic at legendary motorcycles here in Fargo,ND. Told me he once did the 955 upgrade on a hinckley tripple. Not sure if it was a tbird or legend but that shouldn't matter. His name is Henry and if you give him a call he might be able to give you some answers. Hope this helps.

I looked into it a while ago. IIRC it was just a matter of resleeving and swapping pistons.

I felt the easier option was to go with the pistons from the Daytona Super 3. Higher compresson and a direct swap with the current pistons.

In the end, I decided that I've done enough to the Legend already and picked up a TBS to play with.
