2013 Classic Triples Rally
My Legend has gone into winter storage, the New York City motorcycle show is two months away, and I am desperate for a motorcycle fix of some kind, so how about we start thinking about next summer's classic triples rally? Usually, we suggest some new locations as the first step, and that would be fine, but I propose we add a second option this year, based entirely upon our experiences in West Virginia last summer. Specifically, I have never seen riding as good as it was in West Virginia, with curvy roads with good surface conditions, no law enforcement that we saw, and superb lodging that was cheaper than camping. Okay, the food wasn't great, but this time we could cook our own breakfasts together at the cabin each morning, and then maybe do a bit more research for better eats. The place we stopped the day we flew east on the new interstate was great food, but I can't remember the name. The ride back on the old highway was unforgettable, however! That was some great technical stuff! (Mufasa rode like he had a hornet under his saddle!)
If you want some new territory, Mufasa and I rode some great roads south of the finger lakes on our way down to West Virginia, and we have also done lots of Catskill mountain roads. Lots of quiet and beautiful country there, but the road conditions are not even close to the perfect tarmac in West Virginia. Still, it would be a good place for a rally, although scenic riding would be the priority over spirited technical stuff.
Okay, time to start chewing this over.

West Virgina
Sign me up and I'll also vote WV.Outstanding riding any time your on a bike and see a road sign that says 10% grade for the next 4 mi.has to bring a huge smile to your face. couldn't ask for much better, great cabin(I even got upgraded to a room ) and as sevy said cost was as cheap as camping. If you have a chance to go you won't regret it.P.S. still not sure who to thank for the case and a half of beer that was left in the fridge on Thursday night.

If I can afford it, I'll be there!
Currently planning on taking a *third* shot at doing the Cabot Trail in the spring. At least at this point I've seen it (as has the Tbird Sport, but from the bed of a pickup)...definitely on my bike bucket list.

I'm in. WV does have a lot to offer. Maybe even more to the south of where we were.
fwiw, I'm still riding my TBS to work almost every day. Plugged in, of course

I was a newbie when we had the first Classic Triple Rally in NC.
You'll have a fantastic time.

Having missed the past two, I'd be happy for a chance at a repeat of last year's.

We went to a rally in VA last summer and were able to explore VA and some of WV - absolutely worth a return. When we were there we had a great time, despite the storm at the end of June that closed Skyline drive for a day and 130 miles of the BRP due to downed trees, knocked-out power, created gas lines, and gave us 3 days of temperatures like this -
As long as the weather and our schedules cooperate we'll try to make it, but if the forecast calls for anything close to triple digits......! I don't think the TBS would forgive that kind of punishment, the goose almost didn't.
