1999 Legend - Carb Leak

It probably has been covered in the past, but can someone please tell me why gas is leaking out of my carb (left side)?

Going to jump into the bike this weekend, but need to know which parts I need to most likely replace/buy.

Also, what is the stock pilot and idle jets?

When my snow blower did that, I had to replace the float because it had a small hole. A carb is a carb.

I'm no gynecologist, but I'll take a look.

It could be as simple as something lodged between the float needle and the seat.

Try tapping gently on the carb bowls with the plastic end of a screwdriver. Alternately, go for a ride over a few bumpy roads and see if it doesn't fix itself.

My Legend leaked fuel a couple of times in the two years I owned it. All I had to do was make sure I turned off the tap whenever I parked for a week or two. Eventually whatever was blocking the float needle would get sucked in and pass through the system.

Had the same thing happen on my '99 Tbird Sport, but that one needed disassembled and cleaned to fix the problem.

Just my two cents on it, but I always go for the easy fix first. Sometimes you're pleasantly surprised.

If it is debris on the float needle, you could try opening the drain screw and letting it run for a few seconds. Drain the float bowl first with the tap switched to off, then turn the tap on.

Mine did that right after I bought it. It was the float bowl gasket. is it leaking around the side or out of the drain tube?
