...how are the TB's classified? I've always considered them "standard bikes" - although as we all know, there is nothing standard about them. Thank you in advance.

That would be my take on it too - "standard bikes". For reference purposes, I'm near Albany, NY and had two (a '99 and '00) insured with high deductible ($500) collision and comp for $240/year.

You may find that it depends on the insurance company. I tried State Farm, Progressive and GEICO when getting quotes for my 98 TBS.

State Farm was a little high, GEICO got my $$ for price and over-all coverage, but Progressive categorized it as a Sport Bike (with significantly higher rates) because of the wheel size! Apparently that's a significant factor in why sport bikes are a higher liability ride...

You can do quotes online pretty easily anymore, so you don't need to guess.
