Hi all,

I have a 2000 Legend and want to have a seat built up using a spare seat pan I have.

Any recommendations on who to use?

Thanks in advance.

Jim.

Here is the name of one. Rich's. My T-Bird came with one when I bought it last year. They have a booth at the Seattle Motorcycle show. Look up the Seattle Motorcycle show and look at the list of exhibitors. I love the seat. It is a gel seat done in dark green and tan. The Bird is green and champagne. Looks great. Money is the only limit to what they can do.

I used Sargent Cycles (www.sargentcycles.com) in Jacksonville, FL to re-work my Trophy saddle on the stock pan. They did exactly what I asked -- and that's critical! If you don't know what you want, they won't be much help. If you know what's bothering you on your saddle, they'll fix it!

I sent a crude template with cryptic notes and measurements w/my seat to be rebuilt. When they received it, they called me and we went over the notes. 2 weeks later, I had the seat I wanted!

Of course, YMMV!

I had mine re-done by Rich's in Seattle as well. Excellent quality work, but not cheap. Also, they do mostly cruiser-type stuff, so that's definitely (IMO) the 'vibe' you get from their re-done seats.

You can see some photos in my album (link below).

However, Rich's (unlike Sargent) won't do anything by mail I don't think - they usually insist you and the bike be there so they can take measurements, etc. I had to take the day off work. So sad. :-D

Yep, the biggies are Sargent, Mustang, Russell, Bill Mayer; and Rick Mayer

I have a Rick Mayer seat on my TBS. It certainly looks a bit agricultural but it is definately comfortable. If you live near any of the International motorcycle shows, that's a good way to meet him and get measured etc. He also offers a substantial discount if you buy at one of the shows. I've seen the Sprint Maunfacturing Comfort seat and the owners of it like it alot.

I had a custom seat made by (www.day-long.com) Russel Cycle Products,Inc. I sent in a seat pan I got off Ebay, pad and pan are needed, you may request the cover to be sent back to you. I rode from Chicago to AZ 4000 miles to break in the seat and it was well worth the $480 price. It took 8 weeks to make, but I had the old seat to ride on at the time. It is not made for looks but it is very comfy.
