I went out to start up the TBS for a ride today. When I hit the starter button I heard a muffled pop come from the area under the seat where the tank and seat meet. Then nothing happens when I hit the Starter button. So I rode the TBird instead.

When I returned I tore into the TBS. The main fuse and inline fuse are OK. With the battery out I put a contunity indicator across the leads that come fron the starter button where they connect to the starter solenoid. When I turn on the key and hit the starter button the continuity indicator beeps. So I figure this indicates the problem is the starter solenoid.

What other methods can I use to test the solenoid before I shell out Triumph prices for that? Seems to me there's a chance it could be the starter itself?

TIA

Just bypass the solenoid with a strong wire..

But I think that your battery is simply underload..
