...again...this is becoming unhealthy..almost. Seems the carbs are off more than on these days. However, practice gives...(forget the word) but you know what I mean.

Installed 135 mains and put the mix at 1.25 turns. Didn't have time for a test drive...2morrow the verdict falls.

Two :upthumb: :upthumb: to ClassiclyMobile and Jimmy900 for the carb tips in this thread.
Much easier that way!

This little endeavor turned out to be a fiasco of immense proportions.
The bike runs like a piece of sh**.

Idle behavior seems ok when the bike is warm...and the slight drowning I had before is gone i.e. better throttle response right off.

However, when giving an itsy bitsy bit of gas the engine runs quite erratically, pulsating almost. This erratic behavior occurs when she's in gear and the bike is moving.
When giving even more gas and then rolling off to throw in another gear the gas hangs a little before it drops...I guess you could say it sounds like I'm not bothering to let off the throttle when I shift, even though I am.

Regarding the "hanging" of the gas....throttle cable problems are ruled out..there's nothing wrong there.

If the main jet kicks in at 2/3 of throttle...how can it possibly be the culprit? Or is it more likely that going 1.25 turns on the mix is doing this??

Any ideas anyone???

Other Motorcycle: I wish!
Sounds like a lean situation to me.

If you have not changed the pilot jets, set the screws back to 2.5 turns out.

Yeah probably...but at 2.5 turns I got the slight drowning at first throttle.
I really need to find a tool like ClassiclyMobile has for tweaking the mix screws.
