I have noticed that the alloy rims on my TBS have spotted over with white corrosion.I thought they where a laquered finish, although this would seem not to be the case.Obviously I need to clean and polish this off,but what would you recommend I protect them with in the future?Would a wax polish do the job,or should I be looking at an oil based product?Any advice gratfully received.

I would use either a car wax (would last longer) or Nevr dulls (I believe Eagle one <owned by Valvoline> owns them now: http://www.eagleone.com/pages/produc...=1006&cat=5006). Nevr Dulls is easier to polish off (no tell tell white flakes around the spoke nipples), but wont last as long. I think that I only used it once or twice a month when I rode daily.

I have never polished mine, I just rely on the wash n wax I use to wash the bike, to protect them. They are not super-shiny, but they stay corrosion free.
