Took the petrol tank off the other day to check the cooling system and noticed that the lower edges of the 'U' shaped front tank locating brackets had eaten into the frame tubes on both sides. (The rubbers that fit into these brackets look new) It appears these brackets are too wide, so trimmed them back with the trusty angle grinder. Apart from the damage, this metal on metal rubbing could cause some vibration or noise. The bike is an Adventurer and has less than 10K on it.
Anyone else had this problem? What sort of paint is best to touch up the powder coated finish?
