Hello, I need a thermostat housing for my 1998 triumph thunderbird sport. The metal insert in the plastic where the air bleeder screw goes on top of the housing has spun in the plastic and leaks. Does anyone know where to get a housing? Or, does anyone know what housings from other bike models will interchange with mine? My bike has been down all summer and I just can't wait to get ready for the winter riding season! Will the housing from a 2000 triumph sprint work?

Had exactly the same thing happen to me! I posted on it but didn,t get any replies. Anyway I ordered a second hand one from U.K. but the brass insert was also loose, I sent it back and got another which is O.K. so far. My guess is that this is a common problem. The bolt has to be done up fairly tight to stop leaks. The plastic is too soft and the knurling on the brass ferule insufficient to prevent it spinning. It would also be very difficult to repair. Good luck!

Try Baxter Cycle in Iowa. www.baxtercycle.com

They have a number of wrecked Triumphs for parts.

JB Weld should fix it, it's worth a shot.
