I dug into my mikuni carbs last night and from what I could see through the eyeglass the pilot was marked with what looks like "EJ40". Does this mean anything to anyone? Also is there a measurment to determine main jet size?

On the Mikunis the pilot is 40 and the main is 90, if everything is stock that is.

The main jets should be stamped with the size, either on the face or on the side of the head.

A 90 main jet means that the hole is .90mm in diameter.

Thanks for the info. I'm in the process of converting to three uni-filters. From what I've read, #130 main jet seems to be a good choice. Would you agree with this? In addition I want to check my valve clearance. Got any sources for shims?

There's a guy here who's gone the pod filter way...his name is BigVinny.
Check out this thread for an abundance of info: Airbox...sometimes I wish I had a Harley :upthumb:

Good luck!

I just did my valves recently, had to change one of the exhaust shims. The shims are 25mm and are easily had. Two of my local bike shops, one a Honda dealer, had a big assorted box of them. The one I got was £3.
