I have been looking at these for a long time. Finally made the leap and WOW!! Fit and finish is really good. Bolted right on, no issues. Performance is improved and it sounds fantastic!! I do have some minor popping on decel, but will adjust the EPA screws to take care of that.
I was not overly fond of the look of the stock exhaust. They seemed a little bulbous? I think this really cleans up the look of the bike.

I also wanted to say that Thunderbike was really good to work with. I was really surprised at how quickly these arrived from NZ to Texas, USA.

What do you think?

That looks really great, Russ. And heck, they're not even blued yet!

I checked your photo album and was interested to see you had converted to a belt, too. Nice lookin' Legend you've got there!

can I ask, what are the pros and cons of converting to a belt? I assume it is stuff like quieter, cheaper to maintain, longer lasting, easier/cheaper to repair, etc. or does it just look cool?

Also, is it easy and cheap to do the conversion?

Ray

Ray,
pro's and con's of belt drive have been hashed and rehashed here before. I like it because I don't have to adjust it, don't have to lube it. Changing it is the same amount of work as changing sprockets and a new chain. It is not a cheap conversion. Some might hope the cost would be offset by not having to change chains and sprockets, but I doubt it will ever pay for itself.
I have been very happy with the setup, I would probably do it again, but that is just me. For most folks you either like it or hate it.

cost in NZ dollars is $1065 which includes shipping. That converts to about $730 US dollars. About $115 of that is for shipping. If we did not have to pay for shipping it would be a GREAT deal, with shipping it is still a good deal. I am satisfied.

Beemie,
Yes it sounds different from any exhaust I have heard for this bike. I would define it as a growl. You can hear a Thunderbike sound clip here: clicky
