Does anyone know how much oil to put into my 1993 Trident 750. Manual uses a tool to draw out excess oil to a set distance from top face of leg. Leg completely compressed. I dont have access to this tool so can anyone tell me a capacity. :???:

Trident 750 , VIN 4902 to 44301, SAE 10, 109 mm ( max 97 mm)

Any graduate rules will be ok to perform the job

You don't need a specific Tiumph tool just to make a mesurement

I use a small steel ruler with a piece of cardboard taped across to make a T at the appropriate place, i.e., 109mm. Then just use it as a dipstick.

I used a three foot length of clear plastic tube, the stuff you get at the D.I.Y store, taped it to the rule, filled the fork to approximately the level and sucked out the excess, using my lungs, then blow the oil back into the bottle.
Don't suck too hard the stuff tastes rank.
