I'm very happy to have found this site. I was thinking that there was a dearth of information about Triumphs on the web--at least compared to the other marks I've owned--and then stumbled upon this forum.

I've just purchased a very sweet '01 T-Bird (gold and green) and will be looking for advice about parts, service, maintenance, and all the rest. One thing in particular is bothering me right now: will it cost me an arm and a leg for parts for this bike? In the past I've owned older model Hondas and Suzukis, and I could get parts pretty cheaply and do all my own repairs. I need a turn signal relay for the T-Bird, and I was shocked to find that an itty-bitty little relay would cost me $60 from the dealer here in Cleveland. Is there any way around this, save the hit-and-miss approach of eBay?

Thanks in advance, and thanks a lot for this site.

Dale Ehrlich

First of all I'm happy that you're happy :-D
I'm in Australia and parts for triumphs seem to have no rhyme or reason, some things seem to be ridiculously cheap, others are just ludicrous. There's a wealth of information on this site, and some very good problem solving minds.
If you take the time to search and navigate around the site you will find a heap of technical how to's and other information.I think just about anything that can go wrong with these bikes has been discussed at length.
Welcome to the site, it's a great tool.

DaleE , Were happy your here too. Although I have not had to replace many parts the prices appear to be reasonable compared to other marks FWIW .

Welcome to the site, there is definately a wealth of information on this site. One thing that might surprise you is that there are parts from other manufactures that are interchangeable. Don't know of any cross reference guide I could point you to, but I'm sure someone here can help.

Here's a link to a thread that deals with the interchangeability fbird refers to.

Welcome to the site, Dale. You've got a great Tbird vintage there, and I love that color combo.

Some of the accessories are a bit salty, that's for sure. I recommend the center stand, though.
