I just saw the 'Paul Smith' Bonnies on Triumph UK's website. Please tell me that they are a joke. Surely no self respecting biker would be seen dead on one of these!

Looks like he was inspired by the spectacularly ugly Sony Ericsson phones that came out a couple of years ago....unless it was him who designed those covers as well.

BUTTTTTT UGLY!!!!!!!

I'm off to the vomatorium! uke:

The marketing dudes made a serious mistake this time!

I think this Paul Smith is known for designing curtains, not exactly hardcore biker stuff.

Couldn't agree with you all more - I could believe that kinda thing being done to a scooter (i.e. Vespa) but not a Bonnie -

I think they should all be donated to Rat owners (as in Rat not R.A.T.) with free cans of matt black paint and duck tape - so that they can run in peace.

Now it seems they are going to let him loose on the triumph gear too (latest Torque, as if the recent gear changes weren't bad enough) - this must be stopped.... NOW before he gets his hands on a Classic T or a Rocket & Triumph starts becoming more synonymous with Harvey Nicks than the Ace.

Perhaps it's an attempt to make them 'collectable' garage queens... :-D

Check this out..

£65 for a made-in-China tee shirt.

It makes the HD motorclothes (tm) look like pretty good value.

Shakes head in disbelief - I could knock that out for a fiver and a John Bull Screen print kit.

The whole Triumph gear situation is starting to annoy me. I almost had a stand up row with a dealer the other day about Triumphs insistance on changing their line every year, while letting classic lines go completley.

He was trying to insist Triumph have to keep up with the times, while I was trying to point out that although this was true in some instances, names and styles like Bonnies T-Birds and classic leathers (like the Highway Jacket) were like Black - and thus NEVER go out of fashion. he tried to argue that if that was the case why did they not sell many Highway Jackets? To which I argued well @ £275 I wasn't surprised - it was a good jacket but not 300 quid good & if instead of dropping it, they had got the price down to under the two ton, they might find they sold more.

(This comes about because I want a good patrol/highway jacket but with CE pockets, goretex lining and venting - i.e. very similar to the highway, but no one makes one that I can find, this side of the pond. )
