I drove from Virginia to Wisconsin this past weekend to bring her home. 1999 Thunderbird Sport with about 10K on the odometer. Came with the two up seat and grab bar but the solo seat and cowl is staying. She needs a set of tires and to be driven. Impressive on the first short test drive. This is going to be fun. The search mode on this forum will be working overtime.
For me, the gunfighter seat looks... odd... with the fullsize (I'd say "fat") stock fender. So I used a smaller unit, and I LOVE the way it makes the rear end of the bike look:
I'd also consider restoring the radiator to its stock, black appearance, unless you're a huge chrome fan. Everyone's different, of course, but I'm finding the less chrome I have on my yellow TBS the better it looks, to the point where I'm seriously considering having the spoked wheels painted black as well.
A single bottle last forever (you apply it one tiny drop at a time), and makes the black engine look *** fantastic ***. I also use it on all the other black parts on my bike with the exception of the clutch/brake levers. It's a silicone-based product that makes any faded/grayed-out black material look new again - I use it on my MINI Cooper and my classic car as well.
Wow, that bike looks great. I really regret not taking the opportunity to jump on the one that was available years ago.
