Hi Folks - This is my 1st posted message - hope someone can help. I wish to raise the existing handlebars on my 2001 Legend up and back toward me so I don't need to lean forward quite as much. I prefer to be able to reuse the Triumph top clamp if possible. Can anybody suggest a good source for this?

GenMar makes a set of risers that will move your bars up 1 inch and back 1 3/8 inch. They are expensive at $110 US .

You can see them at http://www.zianet.com/GenMar

I use the standard Gen-Mar risers. I think they were $85 US. They are vertical, but the rake of the fork makes the bars go back as well as up.

The standard cables work with this rig; the one that goes up and back might require longer cables.

What about using Thunderbird bars, I think they have more rise and pullback.

I put SW Motech 30mm risers on mine. Top clamp works fine, however, the two sets of bolts they give you are both too long. I now have 5 washers on each one and the handlebars still rotate a bit under stress. I'm going to have to find a source for stainless steel hex-head bolts in the correct size.

See the pictures/description here:

If all you want is more pullback, you can get a new set of handlebars for half the cost of the Motech risers, $20 vs. $40 for the risers.
