Karma? Didn't you have the same problem a month ago? Maybe your bike senses you don't like it. If you said something nice about it maybe you wouldn't have as many problems. Do the bike a favor and sell it to someone who'll love her and send out some positive vibe's, she'll be much better off.

I have never come across any bike that cracks lenses for no apparent reason.

Just a few thoughts.
Temperature, vibration, mounting screws too tight, and the surface they are mating with.

If the plastic is under preasure because the screws are too tight or the mating surface is not flat, then temp, and vibration could crack and break where the stress is at.

i guess you have to know me then you will understand that i treat my stuff like it is a collectors item and i constantly wax check things out take my time on everything sort of like taking pride but i,m allways the one with the lemon just the way life is for me allways a struggle and if the dealer says no so be it i will not argue just take his word ,that might be why, i don,t speak up and tell them it,s a lomon here in mass we have lemon law but i bought this out of state. strange but true most people i talk to have had similar bad luck with theres like this too one guy i met at a donut shop last summer was looking at my bike and said he had 99 adventure and the trannie locked up for no reason and broke the chain and sheared off the front sprocket and he went out of control and dumped it, insurance took care of him but the bike was a total loss so after hearing his tale of woes my problems a minor so say the least but still agonizing :???:

Tsportpirate is talking my language now. Do you talk to your plants Shedds? Only kidding!
But on a serious note, Pirate is absolutely right when he says "Maybe your bike senses you don't like it"
I learned years ago when I first started as an apprentice aircraft mechanic in the USAF, that these machines, this applies to all machines, are just that to a lot of people. But some of us have gone further and regard these machines in a different light. We recognize that our airplane, bike, car, whatever, responds much better to positive vibes and some plain old TLC. All machines will have their problems and some problems seem like there is never to be a fix. It can be very trying at times. All the wax in the world won't take the
place of some well placed lubricant and some nice words. Sometimes a bit of scolding might be in order, after all, the bike can try you just like a teenager will. But you will know how to do it because you know where she is weak and where she is strong. She has a heart and soul, if you will.
My peers used to think I was crazy when I would tell them my secret on the aircraft. I used to go out to it every day and do the repairs if needed, and when that was done the cleaning rags came out and I would talk to her as I polished, in my mind of course, don't want to appear too crazy for fear of a section 8. But I gave out those positive vibes and I swear to this day that it works.

I do the same with all my vehicles. And just like with the airplane, when the polishing is done and before we hit the road, a little tickle and rub on her belly with the right words being whispered make for a happy bike that performs better each time I ride her.

Crazy? Probably
Effective? Definitely

Ride safe

Bob :-D

Shedds,

Chances are the lenses were all too tight and with the significant temp changes in the winter they cracked. Zimtok is probably right on the money.

As for karma, well, as a Christian pastor I'm not up to speed on that, nor on crystals, or other such. But, there is a bigger issue here that you have to resolve. And that is simply that it seems unlikely that you will EVER be happy with this particular bike. I know that you have tried, but you really never come across happy with the bike. Usually its just little things, and we have shared some of those. Mine got fixed, I whined a bit about the gouging cost of Triumph parts, and moved on. I still LOVE the bike. But you really don't love yours, do you?

So, life being brutish and short and all that, why stay with a bike that constantly gives you heartburn, even if the problems are minor? Get rid of it. Live to fight another day. Try a different bike. Perhaps your bike is really a "lemon," but I kind of doubt it.

If you go for another brand of bike, one warning there. After 50 years, off and on, of bikes and biking I have NEVER seen any that don't have little aggrevations. They are simply NOT like cars and the require a lot more maintenance, AND a significant ability on the part of the owner to "not sweat the small stuff."

Good luck, my friend. And do stop making yourself miserable.
