I just put some new handlebars on my Legend and what a difference! They are much lower than stock and I feel so much more in control than before. I swapped these off of my TBird because the buyer wanted the original bars back on. I was concerned that the lower seat height of the Legend might make these feel a little cramped but they are great

Hey,
We seem to be thinking alike! How do you like the bars? I'm trying to get some risers for mine. The reach is just a little too long. Love the way they look, though!
BTW, your Legend is gorgeous! I wish they'd offered the Tbird with the blacked-out engine.

I love them. It feels so much sportier and much more solid in the corners. I think they are very comfortable and the wind blast is much more tolerable.
I know what you mean about the blacked out engine. That is one of the main reasons I switched to the Legend. You can probably see my 1995 TBird in the background of the picture. I absolutely love the TBird and when I first got the Legend, I wasn't sure about it. It took a little getting used to the different feel of the Legend but now I love it.

I've been thinking about putting lower handlebars on my Legend as well. What brand/model of handlebars did you go with?

I got the Superbike bars from Here. I believe they are EMGO bars, which are also sold Bikemaster in some stores. This place is just a few miles from my house so it is handy for me but they will ship anywhere. The bars I have have a 2.2" rise and a 3" pullback. After having them on my Legend a little while, I think they may be a little too low. They are not really uncomfortable but they could be more comfortable. I would probably go with the Euro Cafe or the GP Touring bars if I were you.
Just my opinion

Did they just go right in after you drilled the holes or did you have to put in risers? I am just curious because there is a considerable price difference from the OEM lower bars. Just curious what adjustments/mods you had to make to make these work because they look feakin' awesome. Just the look I am trying to accomplish. I was also wondering how tall you are so I can make my decision on either the superbike to or the cafe bars. I don't think .8" difference on the rise will be significant however the pull back is what concerns me a little.

No modifications were necessary. I didn't even drill the bars, I just ground off the nubs inside the handlebar controls. The bars dropped right in and then I wrapped a bit of friction tape around the bars and bolted the controls on. I am 5'10 and of average build. For anyone shorter than me, I would definately recommend taller bars or a little more pullback. My wife (about 5'4") could sit very well on the legend in stock configuration but with these bars it too much of a stretch. She can reach them but it is uncomfortable for her.
I suppose it is all a matter of preference and these bars definately look and feel more aggressive. If that is what you are looking for and are as tall or taller than me, I say go for the Superbike bars.
Just my opinion

Looks great man! So would I be correct in assuming that they'd fit the T-bird as well??
What do you mean when you say "Ground off the nubs inside the handlebar controls"?
