Is the Triumph Legend considered a rare motorcycle? I've had two people lately tell me that it's a rare motorcycle....hmmm I dunno about that.

Honestly, all Triumph's are rare at this point. I can go weeks riding every day and not see another Trumpet on the street. I think things will change in the future with Triumph releasing a lot of cool bikes.

To answer your question though..without knowing the production numbers I would guess the Legend and Adventurer are much more rare than the Thunderbird and Thunderbird Sport as far as Hinckley Classics go and quite rare overall in the Hinckley Triumph production years.

They were only produced for a few years, but that doesn't really make them "rare" I wouldn't think. Perhaps a definition is in order (pretty relative).

Adventurers are rarer.

I would have to agree with the general rarity of Triumphs, especially the Hinkley Classics. They only made the Legend for 3 years and I think that may be the same for the Adventurer. Everyone and their mom who owns a classic usually owns a t-bird or TBS. In answer to your question, yes the Legend is a rare bike as well as the Adventurer. I would just enjoy the fact that you don't own a "me too" bike.

Per Merriam Webster:

Main Entry: Rare
Etymology: Middle English, from Latin rarus
1 : marked by wide separation of component particles : THIN <rare air>
2 a : marked by unusual quality, merit, or appeal : DISTINCTIVE b : superlative or extreme of its kind
3 : seldom occurring or found : UNCOMMON
synonym see CHOICE, INFREQUENT
- rare·ness noun

So yes, I would say this applies to all Triumphs, as 2 and 3 certainly apply! :-D
