I bought a pair of used stock peashooter silencers on Ebay that came off A '95 Tbird. Unfortunatly one of them is missing the threaded anchor bungs that mounts to the bracket.

I thought of some kind of a lead shield insert that would expand when the mounting bolt is inserted. Couldn't find anything close the the size needed at the local Home Depot. If I did would it get soft and come out with the heat? Didn't see any kind of anchor bolt that would work. Welding a nut on the outside?

Anyone run in to this? I posted on the Workshops section with no responses.

T.

I think they are called RivNuts. Not sure how you repair that though. Maybe some of the more experienced wrenches on this site can help you out.

Good Idea vonbonds:
Makes me think of trying Pop Rivets Pop rivets they come in a variety of sizes and metals. Cheap and Easy to use. Also can be easily removed if necessary.

You should return the exhaust to the seller for a full refund and post negative feedback if he doesn't cooperate. You got ripped off.
