What are you paying to insure your bike? I'm paying $542/year fully insured. That's cheap to me!
Some of my friends with sportbikes are paying totally ridiculous amounts, $5000/year is nothing unusual. Fees can be lowered slightly by using protective gear etc.

£125.00 Third party fire and theft. I figured that if i survive a big accident and the bike is trashed, i might as well write off the 5k i spent on it. I will probably get as many £ selling the bits on ebay as i would get from any insurance company, in my experience.

Just over $200 with Progressive. They think it's a 'cruiser.' ;-)

Ditto on Progressive... it was $250 when I just had the 'Bird, $550 now with the Bird AND the ST.

FYI - get a new quote with them every year. I found that a new policy is much cheaper than a renewal....

Also, remember that rate differ greatly from state to state. Locally, insurance is much higher in NC than in SC - for the same rider and bike!
