I read somewhere that the somewhat coarse vibration in the 3-3500 rpm range on my 03TBS is normal and tends to lessen or go away after more miles. Is this true? Aprox. how many miles does it take? Thanks

Other Motorcycle: I wish!
I have 14000 mile on mine and I dont notice it at all now.

It is probably still there, just that I am used to it.

I think mine still vibrates at 3-3500 but only in first gear because once I get out of first gear it rarely drops below 3500. :-D

My normal shift point is around 5-6k so the revs don't drop down to 3k getting into the next gear.

I also find that my bike likes 4k as a good smooth crusing RPM. the MPH is then determined by the gear I'm in.

I have around 19,000 miles on my bike.

Is that a triple thing or a Thunderbird thing?
Is the rest of the model line like that?

My 97 Adventurer does'nt vibrate at all and neither did my 95 Tbird. I did test ride a 98 TBS though, and that had very harsh vibration at about 3500 rpm, so bad in fact that I pulled over to check if something was wrong. (needless to say, I did'nt buy it)

My 96 Adventurer doesn't vibrate either. Could be a TBS thing.

My "02 T'Bird also vibrated at that rpm range for a couple yeaars. Now that I have 21,000 miles on it the vibration has disappeared. Don't give up hope.

That's troublesome to think about.
"It only vibrates until is almost worn out".

GeeZ 21K on one of these bikes is just barely broken in.

Have you read the story about the courier in England who put 200K+
on a T3 Trident?
