I'm considering the Hypotesis of putting twin brakes.

I found a 17" wheel of a thunderbird sport to buy...

If I radiate the center of that wheel on mine will the fixing holes of the disc match with the old one?

Synthesis: Is it better to buy two 310 disks or one more 320?

If better 310 wich mods to the caliper (will tbs ones match on fork's shoe?)

Wich right fork shoe and caliper do I need to complete the job?

Many thanks

FOR THOSE WHO LIKE THIS BIKE: I lowered 4cm forks with hyperpro kit and modified indicators, the seat and lot of details. I will post them ASAP.

I could be enough happy to know if TBS right fork blade is compatible with 43mm ADVENTURER kayaba forks.

Very happy if the center of the TBS wheel were designed with same rotor fixing point (distances) of ADV,TB and LEGEND one (if it was I could put different size disks 320 - 310)...

Anyone can help?

...Mick...are you on vacation?

R.

Hi Regis,

I don't know the complete answer to your question, but I would guess that you would have to change the complete front fork set-up to achieve a twin disc set-up. Even getting hold of a complete set of Sport forks has required people to do other changes as well. (Fyi, Ballacraine & Slinky have experience of this).

So your simple suggestion, I feel, would not be possible:
Differences in performance of the Adjustable Kayaba fork to the Non-adjustable Showa fork would give an imbalance; The Speedo drive is also on the opposite sides; Ect. etc...

Improved braking performance with a single disc is possible as there are the Beringer 4-pot & 6-pot calipers, and Harrison Billet 6-pot caliper available. It is best/essential to fit a floating disc with these. There is also an Italian member (Monello) who has fitted a Brembo caliper through using an adaptor. Beyond these calipers you have to be very careful as the caliper width can interfere with the wire spokes. I, myself, have a Beringer 4-pot to try in the near future, and I have also picked up a T-Bird Sport rim and Thunderbird/Bonneville Hub to build a 17" (aka Legend) front wheel alternative (I may need a Legend mudguard for this?).

I hope I have understood your question correctly?

Ciao, Geoff

Yes you understood well. But I live in Banana Republic:
all is allowed except variations in tyres size.

If there where'nt problems with 18" wheel I had switched to another complete front eqipment (very commond to find something that fits working on it) instead of lowering and hardspringing mine.

I putted on a 5/8 master cylinder from a kawa without visible improvements, and for shure I will try other calipers too...

Now, I founded on the net a german guy is demolishing a TBS that sells two disks, right speedo sensor and a t-bird wheel (no forks blade). I was wondering quite for joke if there where a way to do the job with that materials putting the two disk center on my rim and changing the left blade only (?withwhat was the question?) - no matter if different discs size and calipers type in the result.
