Hi guys...brand new here...I came across a 2000 thunderbird Sport today and the guy is asking 4700. the bike has 4400 miles and looks pretty good from the pics except for a bit of pitting on the rear tun signals....how does this sound? And what should I look for when he brings the bike by? thanks in advance...Dave

Oh, almost forgot...I'm only 5' 6"...how's the seat height? I just saw a pic of this bike and fell for it...

I had a 99 TBS and loved it. Great power, great sound (with the off-road pipes), handled well and looked cool. I never had any problems with mine - except for the stock seat. For some reason it ruined my lower back and rear. I finally bought a cushion for long rides. I am sure the seat is a personal preference thing. I would buy it.

Sounds like a nice low-mileage bike. Your best bet is to have a (preferably Triumph) mechanic look over it before you buy.

The price seems a bit high - I'd check NADA and KBB prices for your area. NADA for my zip code says average used values on 00 TBS's should be in the range of $2,950 to $3,880.

Another reason to haggle down the price is that the 6k mile service is just around the corner, and that'll cost you a few hundred dollars.

Good luck!
